Dr. Starlaine Mascarenhas completed her Ph.D in Biotechnology from a premier institute-BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa campus where her focus was primarily on Biomedical research more specifically on Chronic Kidney Disease etiology and histopathological mechanistic modifications. She is an environmental toxicologist and molecular biologist with over 6 years of experience in teaching and research. She is a recipient of the prestigious Junior research fellowship from CSIR and Senior research fellowship from ICMR. She has organised several certificate course and short term hands on training programmes cum workshops funded by the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Goa. Her area of expertise lies in the domain of environmental chemistry and toxicology, cellular and molecular toxicology, biomedical research, food chemistry and toxicology. She currently serves as an In-charge of the Department of Biotechnology. She has led research projects funded by DST-WM and published in reputed international refereed peer reviewed Scopus or Web of Science indexed journals.
