Hello! Shubhankar Shah here, an Assistant Professor at Parvatibai Chowgule College for over 5 years. Born in Mumbai but raised thoroughly in Goa, I completed my undergraduate and postgraduate education in Chowgule College and Goa University respectively, earning a Gold Medal on the way.  I am currently pursuing a PhD where I hope to better understand the complex relationship between literature, illness, and identity. As an educator, I believe in facilitating learning rather than gatekeeping knowledge, so be ready for some intense discussions in class! My interests include photography and movies, which spill over in my college work too (“Meet me in Montauk…” Sorry, I meant IFFI). I also strongly believe that compassion—especially towards animals—is central to being human.
