BIO

Mr. Rajat Ashok Hegde is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Konkan at Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science, Gogol- Margao, Goa. A passionate academic and creative artist, he is deeply engaged in poetry writing and literary criticism, with a strong commitment to nurturing Konkani language and literature. Beyond the classroom, he actively explores theatre as a powerful tool for learning and social engagement. He has written and directed several short plays and street plays, many of which have been successfully performed by his students across different parts of Goa. His work encourages students to express themselves confidently, think critically, and connect literature with real-life experiences. With a vision centered on the holistic development of students, he strives to bring out their best potential by blending academic rigor with creativity, performance, and practical exposure—preparing them to face the real world with confidence and purpose.

Worked as an Assistant Professor at MES Vasant Joshi College of Arts and Commerce, Zuarinagar- Goa and GVM’s GGPR College of Commerce and Economics, Ponda- Goa.

Accomplishments

Recipient of Late Dr. Manoharrai Sardessai ‘Yuva Srujan Puraskar’ for literary contribution to Konkani poetry in the year 2025 by Ravindra Bhavan Margao.
Recipient of Late Shri Dilip Kumar Rayu Prabhu Mahmbre Gold Medal at the hands of President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu for obtaining First Rank in Konkani at M.A. Examination at 34th Annual Convocation of Goa University 2023.
Received Late Adv. Lakshimikant V.S. Talualikar Scholarship for obtaining Highest Marks in Konkani at the M.A. Examination.
Dr. Harischandra T. Nagvenkar Prize for obtaining Highest Marks in Konkani at the M.A. Examination.
Received Mr. James Abreo Scholarship for obtaining First Rank at B.Ed. at G.V.Ms. Dr. Dada Vaidya College of Education, Ponda- Goa at the hands of Prof. Dr. F. M. Nadaf, Deputy Director of Higher Education, Govt. of Goa.
Received Mrs. Maria Teresa Coelho Scholarship for the Best All Round Student of G.V.Ms. Dr. Dada Vaidya College of Education, Ponda- Goa in the presence of Padmashree Awardee Mrs. Norma Alvares.
