BIO

I am Dr. Adrian Ferro, an Assistant Professor of Geography and Coordinator of the M.A. Geography programme at CES’s Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts & Science (Autonomous), Margao, Goa. I have been teaching since 2012. I am among the first scholars to be awarded a Ph.D. in Geography by Goa University in the State of Goa. My areas of specialization include Environmental Geography, Urban Studies, and Cartography. I have worked on a major UGC-funded research project and published research papers in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes. I am committed to quality teaching and innovative, student-centred pedagogical practices.

Activities Organized:

  • Dr. Adrian Ferro, faculty in the Department of Geography and Research Centre, organized the observance of Hiroshima–Nagasaki Day with the theme “Mapping Peace: Remembering Hiroshima and Nagasaki through the Lens of SDG 16” on 09th August 2025.
  • Dr. Adrian Ferro, faculty in the Department of Geography and Research Centre, organized a workshop on “Mind Mapping – A Visual Tool” on 18th September 2024. Dr. Ferro discussed the effectiveness of the mind mapping technique in research methodology, helping students organize information, generate ideas, and identify gaps in data. Students then created genealogy charts using mind map software centered on their interests.
  • Dr. Adrian Ferro, faculty in the Department of Geography and Research Centre, organized a “Seed Ball” making workshop on 28th July 2025 on the occasion of World Nature Conservation Day, focusing on the theme “Sustainable Use of Nature’s Gifts.”
Activities Participated:
  • Dr. Adrian Ferro, faculty in the Department of Geography and Research Centre actively participated in a beach clean-up drive, reinforcing the commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 14 (Life Below Water). This initiative was organized by the Indian Coast Guard at Benaulim beach, Goa on 20th September 2025.

  • Successfully organized a Two-Day National Conference on “Resilient Geographies: Pathways to Sustainable Development and Viksit Bharat,” held on 15th and 16th December 2025, jointly organized by the Department of Geography, Sophia College (Autonomous), Ajmer, Rajasthan; Department of Geography, Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Khandola-Marcel; and Department of Geography and Research Centre, CES’s Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science (Autonomous), Margao, Goa

  • Dr. Adrian Ferro, Assistant Professor in Geography, participated in the “Green Goa Summit 2024 - Accelerating ESGs/ SDGs in Goa” on 31st August 2024 at the Durbar Hall, Rajbhavan, Dona Paula, Goa. Organized by Vibrant Goa Foundation and Goa State Pollution Control Board, the summit aimed to accelerate Environmental Social Governance (ESG) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in Goa.
  • Dr. Adrian Ferro, faculty in the Department of Geography and Research Centre, attended a Two-Day National Level online Workshop on “Research Paper Publishing: Crafting, Structuring, and Choosing Reputed Journals while avoiding Clone Journals,” organized by the Ideal Institute of Academic and Research Advancement (IIRA), Ministry of MSME, Government of India, Maharashtra-Mumbai-Thane, held on 15th and 16th January 2025.
  • Dr. Adrian Ferro, Assistant Professor in Geography, attended a Three-Day National Level online Faculty Development Programme on “Innovative Teaching Pedagogy and AI Tools in Education,” organized by Daar-ul-Rehmat Trust’s A.E. Kalsekar Degree College and Ideal Institute of Academic and Research Advancement (IIRA), Ministry of MSME, Maharashtra-Mumbai-Thane, held from 29th to 31st January 2025.
  • Dr. Adrian Ferro, faculty in the Department of Geography and Research Centre, attended a Five-Day National Level online Hands-on Faculty Development Program on “JAMOVI and Systematic Literature Review,” organized by Ideal Institute of Academic and Research Advancement (IIRA), Mumbai, held from 27th to 31st July 2025.
