Established in 1962, the Department of Chemistry upholds a strong tradition of academic excellence and research, fostering skilled graduates with outstanding academic and professional achievements.

Overview

The Department of Chemistry at CES’s Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science (Autonomous) was established in the year 1962. Since its inception, the Department has been committed to academic excellence, quality teaching, and meaningful research. The Department is supported by a team of qualified, experienced, and motivated faculty members who are actively involved in teaching and research.

Over the last five years, the Department has successfully completed two research projects and has published more than 20 research findings in reputed journals. It has also organized one National-level seminar and two State-level seminars, providing a platform for academic interaction and dissemination of knowledge. The Department is spread over an area of 843 square meters and is well equipped with essential laboratory and instructional facilities.

The Department takes pride in its strong student outcomes, with all graduating students being suitably employed. Many students have also brought laurels to the Department by successfully clearing national-level competitive examinations such as NET and SET after completing their post-graduation.
