Institution's Innovation Council (IIC)
Overview
IIC primarily refers to the Institution’s Innovation Council, a Ministry of Education (India) initiative launched in 2018 with AICTE to build innovation and startup ecosystems in higher education, encouraging students and faculty in ideation, problem-solving, IP, and commercialization. It aims to foster a culture of entrepreneurship by organizing activities, mentoring, and supporting the development of societal solutions through technology, essentially translating ideas into real-world impact.
Objectives
- Foster Innovation: Promote activities like Design Thinking, Idea Competitions, Hackathons, and IPR awareness.
- Support Startups: Guide students and faculty through pre-incubation and incubation stages, helping them develop proof-of-concept and manage projects.
- Build Ecosystem: Create a cohesive environment for innovation by involving leadership and coordinating resources.
- Address Challenges: Overcome issues like low participation and lack of coherence in existing innovation efforts within institutions.
- Hands-on Training: Workshops, seminars, and competitions on ideation, problem-solving, and project management.
- Mentorship: Connecting innovators with industry experts.
- Networking: Collaborating with other organizations and promoting IIC’s visibility

Activities Organized
Every year IIC organises various activities in the domain of ideation, Entrepreneurship awareness, IPR, visit to incubation / pre-incubation centre etc, Science exhibition etc. to promote the core objectives of IIC.
Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) & Prevention of Sexual Harassment Cell
The Sexual Harassment of Women at workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal ) Act.2013 was passed by the Parliament of India. The Act provides protection against Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace and for the prevention and redressal of complaints of sexual harassment and for the matters connected there of with or incidental there to.
According to the Supreme Court guideline, Sexual harassment can be defined as “unwelcome” sexually determined behaviour (whether directly or by implication) as:
- Physical contact and advances;
- Demand or request for sexual favours;
- Sexually coloured remarks;
- Showing pornography; and
- Other unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature. (Vishaka judgment by Supreme Court)
Objective and Role of ICC
- To take consistent action for prevention, prohibition and redressal of complaints received regarding sexual harassment and gender discrimination of women personnel at the workplace.
- Make recommendations to the management to lay down procedures for the prohibition, resolution, settlement and prosecution of acts of discrimination and sexual harassment, by the students and the employees.
- Deal with cases of discrimination and sexual harassment against women, in a time bound manner, aiming at ensuring support services to the victimized and termination of the harassment.
- Recommend appropriate punitive action against the guilty party to the Management.
The Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) of the College was constituted in June 2017 in accordance with The Sexual Harassment at Workplace ( Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal ) Act.2013.
Details of all members of the Committee have been displayed in college website The college has tried to create awareness on the issue of sexual harassment by conducting workshops and lectures by lawyers and activists.
Self-defense course has been introduced for the empowerment of girl students
